The original spelling for Vaida is Veda and its hardly been used since the 1960s
Vivian is ranked 153 so still not that popular

I have heard Vaida a LOT! on here especially!
And I live the 'aid' my son is Jaidis

How the hell do you even say that. God what the hell is happening to people today! Freaking naming their kids all kinds of crazy ass smurf. I was helping DD go through her valentines from school and I could only pronounce 3 of the 23 names and that includes her's. I feel for my sister being a teacher I tell you what.

First thing that comes to mind is a flower. Lea, doesn't come to mind in that at all. Not in the proper pronounciation of that name.

I am not honestly a fan of Azalea as a name but, it is different for sure.

Your sister will survive. Azalea is the name of a flower.

Azalea is a flower I dont think it works as a name.

I have noticed that name trends vary on region. In AZ where my girls were born, Victoria was pretty popular (of course I didn't learn this until my daughter was 2). Here in MT, I haven't met another in her age group.

Well, as a whole, in the US. Veda/Vaida/Vada has not peaked over 1000 since the 60s.
So it would hardly constitute as popular when compared to a name like Emma or Olivia
