Is there a reason you need a stroller for your 4 year old? Is he special needs?

I wasn't aware only special needs children use strollers.....

We go to places like the zoo & disneyland alot. There's no way he is going to walk the entire time & there's no way I am going to carry him either. So, a stroller it is.

Have you thought about buying a wagon for places like the zoo?

Hmm. I don't think that'd be easy to push (or pull) around. Usually we're at these places like all day, so when he's sleepy he lays back in the stroller, Idk how comfy he would be in a wagon. We've never owned one

I asked you a question because it changes the stroller i would suggest.

I'm sorry but I don't know any 4 year olds in strollers. Honestly. My daughter is 4 and hasn't been in a stroller for years. She can easily walk miles. I've never had a problem at zoo's, theme parks etc.

I wouldnt spend a lot of money on a stroller for a older kid like that... Just get a cheap umbrella. Unless you use this more often than your occassional theme park trip?

Do you have Mountain Buggy there? they're meant to push like a dream at full capacity (55 lbs!) My 3 yr old is big for his age and i'd take it for day trips if i expected he might get tired.

Some kids need to nap/get over stimulated or tired out and 4 year olds are still pretty young to 'just deal with it and walk'. I see nothing wrong with occasional stroller use at preschool age.

Are there strollers for older SN kids?

Before we had a stroller i thought just getting a smart trike would be enough as i wore him most the time anyway, and it was a nightmare to push with the stupid plastic wheels and handle. i always imagine wagons to be awkward to steer too, but we don't really use them here so i've never tried one. A friend met a few people with them last summer and said they're pretty good, a mama had her (small) 2 and 6 yr old in the same one along with a days worth of drinks etc. I like the drinks holders and stuff with the a stroller though

We go to theme parks a little more than occasionally, we go just about every other weekend.
If we're at a theme park for 9+ hours there's no way he's going to walk the entire time. Usually when he's tired he'll lay back in the stroller, how do you do that with your 4yr old if you don't bring a stroller with you?
& All of the umbrella strollers I've seen have a lower weight limit than what he weighs.

idk if you want the seat to recline or not but I always thought these lookedcomfy! They have the breatheable mesh so not getting too hot would be a plus

Wagons are actually pretty nice for things like the zoo. Most have seats and a canopy, if he gets sleepy you can fold up the seats and he can lay down

If you go that often, you'd think he'd be used to the walking...I can't imagine our kids at 4yo still in a stroller, even on long outings. But if you insist...Maclaren's will hold 55lbs, Peg Perego's don't really have a limit (they just figure if they can fit, they can ride), Baby Jogger City Mini has a 50lb limit, along with the new BOB Motion stroller. Size wise, they will all comfortably accommodate an older child.
