OMG!!! So freakin embarrassed right now

posted 12th Feb
I have had urine incontinence for a few weeks now. Its been made worse because of a cold I basically pee on myself anytime I have a coughing fit. I have been wearing pads and its not helping. Today I attended my German class and had a coughing fit in the class and peed on myself. Luckily I had long shirt on and it wasn't noticeable as I shamefully walked out of class and went home but it made me so embarrassed. Is there something wrong with me? Is this normal during pregnancy and can I do anything to prevent it?

KEGALS KEGALS KEGALS. Squeeze that vagina momma! I am being serious. You gotta do it at least 10 times 3 times a day. squezze as hard as you can for 10-20 seconds release and do it again. It will also help with labor and bouncing back after labor. you can do them anytime you are sitting. Smurf you can do them now. But they will help.

I peed myself once at about age 10. There was literally no bathroom open and it was totally noticeable. Most embarrassing thing ever.

Don't feel bad it happens to the best of us. I peed on my self in Walmart when I sneezed about a week before my LO was born. I was embarassed too but I laughed it off. Good thing I had a towel in the car!

It's normal for a lot of women. Do kegel exercises, to strengthen the muscles and keep it from getting worse.

Nope there isn't a thing wrong with you. I do it :/ I haven't peed in public in a long time not since I laughed really hard in the 8th grade! But I would say wearing a pad may be the best thing you can do, and keep using the restroom frequently.

It's totally normal, and you're doing about all you can for it: wearing panty liners or pads. It gets worse the further along you get as well. Sometimes I still pee on myself when I sneeze hard or have a bad coughing fit, and my youngest is almost a year :/

Its best to empty your bladder when you feel the urge to go also, the more frequently you do it should decrease some of your issue. Also the kegels would help.

Thanks. I am glad to know its not totally uncommon. It did not get on the chair I did look to see if it did. I would have cleaned it up as embarrassing as it would have been had I got some on the chair.
