Rash on a 3 yr old. (anyone seen something like this?)

Maybe I'm over reacting, I can't seem to decide one way or another. My son just turned 3 and has had his MMR vac. A week ago today he was diagnosed with strep throat and put on ammoxicillin. He's been on it for a week now. Never had a fever, felt a bit warm this morning but his temp was 98.9, he woke up with a rash. At first I didn't think much about it b/c his doc said it could come with strep but the rash she described would look like a sun burn and be sand paper-ish. This is not at all. It was worse after nap time and he's only itched it a little but doesn't seem too bothered about it. He's been laying around a lot today and messing with his mouth a lot. When I ask him what's wrong he just says he's sick, lol. He's been drinking fine but not eating much. What freaks me out is that my gma is a nurse and when I sent her the pic of his rash she said measles is that possible even thought he's had his shots?? Anyone seen anything like this with their kids?? My mom said chicken pox, but it's not raised....

Is it all over or just on his torso?
My daughter had a reaction to amox. and that's what it looked like.

have u tested him for meningitis?

When did he have his MMR vac?

Maybe an allergic reaction to the medicine.

Just on his chest/back?
My daughter got that a couple times. Paranoid me ran to the ER.
Turns out it's common. A viral rash. It goes as quick as it comes most times.

If it's painful, itchy, or blistering, be worried. If not, just wait and see.
If it covers LO's face, legs and hands I'd be a bit worried, too.

I would take him in to be seen at least at urgent care

Looks like an allergic reaction to something, yikes!

I didn't think of meningitis. He has his vac back around 14 months I believe. Can a reaction to the meds really take a week to show up? He's almost finished with the course of meds.

I would call the on-call doctor and see what they say.

A week later got that rasmu...rf was hives. A trip to the pedis office and some bynadryl cleared it up
He's allergic to amoxicillin

Oh geesh. Take him in. Probably just something viral, but would be worth getting seen about immediately, just in case because generally a viral rash won't be all over his face, groin and legs.

I'd take him in.
