No because not all children are religious or believe in god
Saying the Lord's Prayer silently is completely different than forcing all school aged children to do so

Hell no. Go ahead and force that stuff on "your" kid, but that's crossing the line forcing it on others.

im all for a group of kids sitting at a table praying. i dont even care if my kid hears it and wants to learn about it but making them say it heck no
quoteposted 12th Feb
if I wanted my kids to be praying and smurf I would cough up the money and put them in private school...
I am catholic, my son went to a catholic school for 1 month... I liked the school and the way they taught the kids... was all fine and dandy,
My son is in regular school now and I think it would be ignorant for them to have kids do anything like that???

Not at all. Not everyone belongs to the same religion or is even religious for that matter and besides that who is to say what religion is "right"? I also noticed two people voted that it should be mandatory but have voiced no reason why... maybe because there is no legitimate reason.

No I do not think they should do that in public school. I would homeschool my child if that did happen and I'm sure a lot of other people would as well.

Absolutely not. If and when my childs expressed a desire to learn about religion, I would allow him to do so but forcing a religion on a child? Thats completely out of line. Yes, I understand if that child hours to a private religious school but at public school, no way, no how. It's so wrong. What about those who follow another religion? Muslim, catholic, christian, jehovas witness, forcing the lords prayer at school is completely disregarding our right to free will. Thats not right at all. I don't know how any religious person could justify that, I'd like to heart them try.

I would be up in that school raising all sorts of hell if DD or DS came home and told me they were forced to pray.

YES YES YES! There is nothing sweeter than a child being forced to pray! It's just what God wants; a bunch of noncommitted children praying to Him...by FORCE.
LOVE IT.
