3 year old wetting pants.

posted 12th Feb
I cant figure it out. my daughter has been potty trained since august.
she hasnt really ever had an accident since.
she normally goes without even telling me. she just does it.
The past 4 days I dont think she has used the bathroom once. she just keeps going in her pants.
I am honestly getting tired of it. woudlnt be a big deal if she didint already know how! what can I do?

My daughter went through that. I figured it was just laziness. It was easier for her to piss her pants and then be cleaned up and changed. If she was in the middle of doing something like playing or coloring, she wouldn't want to stop to get up and go potty, so she'd just do it on herself and make me change her. It got old fast.

My dd went in spurts like that for awhile. I'd have to go back to reminders for a bit.

Do you ask her every once in a while to go potty? I agree that it could be laziness, so maybe she's just not wanting to stop playing so you may have to just tell her to go every so often.

DD went through a phase like that. We busted out the potty watch and got her back on track.

It will happen and is normal. She is three, she might reverse a little.Be positive, make her a 'good job' chart where every time she remembers to go to the potty, she gets a star and at five stars, she gets candy. Just encourage her. I know it's frustrating but forceful potty training and better who make huge issues out of it usually end up with children who will wet themselves longer and later in life. My son was potty training himself so well, even pooped, and out of nowhere, here we are back at square one. It looks like your little one may just be going through one of those spurts of laziness or regressing some. Encouragement, reward, and communication and LOTS of patience (because I KNOW it gets really old) will do the trick.
