I will be have a planned c-section for personal and medical reasons on Monday and im not exactly 100% on what type of anesthtic i should receive. I've heard the pros and cons of the epi and morphine but a lot if women tell me to just have them put me to sleep (which i dont want cuz idk if they will allow m bf in the or and i really want him there especially since he missed the birth of our son by 24hrs due to military). Can some of u ladys give me ur storys or opnions good or bad are welcomed.... Thank you!!

You won't be awake to see the baby for a little bit after birth. I wouldn't get put to sleep unless absolutely necessary.

I ended having to be put to sleep with my son because of an extremr anxiety attack but im positive that was because it was an emergancy and bf wasnt there.... im worried my anxiety will get the best of me again tho

From what I know most women get a spinal block unless there are reasons for her to be put under.

I got a spinal/ epidural when I had my last c-section a year ago. It was wonderful to be awake and her my baby's first cry and see her as soon as she came out. If you are put under general anesthetic most hospital won't let husbands or S.O in the O.R. Think of all the pictures your S.O. can get for you of your child's first moments in the world. After my baby was clean they brought her over so I could see her and hold her for a few minutes before she was taken to the nursery. It was a wonder experience for him to be there for her birth. The after pain of c-section will hurt the same wither you are awake or put under . This summer I will have a repeat c-section and plan on being awake for it too.
