I am sick with a 3 month old baby

I am extremely sick with a cold...my son who is 3 months old stayed with mil yesterday when I started getting symptoms and she is watching him again today. I can't pawn him off on her another day. Should I try to find someone else or take a chance that I am not going to be contagious tomorrow?

I'm guessing you aren't breast feeding. If you are your LO will be fine because antibodies are transferred via breast milk. As for the contagious part you are normally contagious 24 hours before symptoms even show.

I didn't think the cold was contagious, just the flu.

No he is on formula for multiple reasons. I am just worried about him getting sick.

My LO is formula fed too. But like I said your normally contagious 24 hours before symptoms even show so he's already exposed to it.

Kids get sick it happens.

I've been around both of my children when I was sick, sometimes they'd catch it, sometimes they didn't. Just wash your hands and don't kiss him or cough on him and he'll probably be fine. If not, oh well, he was bound to get sick eventually.

  you can't get rid of your kid every time you get a cold. If he gets sick, he gets sick. It will just build up his immunities.

LOL.. I hear ya. I had walking pneumonia back in December and it was terrible. I still had my babies, as miserable as I was.

I dont have anyone to take my kids. If im on my death bed DH can stay home but they are still around me. Otherwise its a movie day with lots of cuddles.

Yup. I'm getting over the flu. I've got 4 kids, including a 2 month old. I still had/have to be mom.

I didn't have anyone either at that time, hence why I had them. It does suck when you're really sick and need rest and can't. Just rest as much as you can, take your meds, and push the fluids, push Vit C. Hopefully, you'll feel good as new in a couple days.

Yep, you are contagious before you start showing symptoms.
So, basically all you did was expose other people to your sickness lol genious!
