c section thursday~!~ any good sec stories?

im having my 3rd girl on thursday via section..its my third section but its been 5 years!! any1 have any good surgery stories? how many days were u in hosp? did they immideately (sp) put baby in room with you? or at least let your partner go with baby? thx...so scared

Mine would have been done had dd not went to the nicu. So my recovery has sucked. But other than that it was smooth. Hospital policies vary but they put dd on my chest while they finished sewin me up and then SO took her to recovery and met me in there. I held her for an hour but her blood sugar was low and dropped so they had to take her from me to the nicu. Otherwise she would Have come to my room with me after. But I've heard of some hospitals not letting the mom see or hold the baby until they're out of recovery which I think is bs.

I had an emergency section and as soon as DS was out, he was over with us to say hello, taken for a brief check and then given to me. I was too groggy from all of the drugs plus I was laying down so I was too scared to hold him, SO took him but held him close to me until we were in recovery and I was sitting a little more upright. We sat in recovery for half an hour and he was laying on my chest for skin on skin until we went to the room where our families who were already at the hospital could say hi.

I felt so bad for them. My poor mum had been there and awake as long as I had, SO's mum and parter had driven an hour at 9pm to get there and they were only allowed to say a quick 10 minute hello before being kicked off the premises! At least this time it will be planned so I can give people a schedule instead of that happening  

I stayed in for 2 days with my second, I was up and walking/showered myself 6 hours later, I was really good with my second c-section.

Yeah they took her to check her out, SO cut the cord, then he bought her over to me, where he put her next to me, I cried so hard lol, awww.

awww thats total BS~!~ lol you couldnt control the time since it was an emergency c section..they should have been allowed to stay for more than 10 minuites~!~ i like the idea of having a planned sec becasuse it gives you time to get your thoughts in order,and everything else for that matter,instead of labor just happening! that always scared me..good luck momma

My husband spent every second with the baby after he was born. I had to go to the recovery room, but my husband stayed with him the whole time. After about 30 min they brought him into the recovery room to feed. And I was up and walking around as soon as the spinal wore off.

I'm also having my 3rd c-section on Thursday. It's been 4 years since my last and the closer it gets the more nervous I get! We're c-section buddies!! Lol. What time is yours?
