Bleeding after cervical exam????? Help

I am currently 37 weeks i had an appointment today. my doctor checked me and told me i was 3cm dialated. after being checked i went to the restroom and was bleeding heavily like starting of a period. they told me it was normal but im starting to get contractions. what do i do? this is my first pregnancy and i am freaking out!

It's normal and it should pass soon. Drink some water and lay down and rest. A warm bath may help. Time the contractions if they don't stop.

If you are filling up a pad then you need to go the hospital. If its a steady heavy flow call your doctor if its been more than a hour or two. Contractions are normal try drinking some water and laying down. Also start timing them.

Did they do a sweep or something? I know slight bleeding is normal, but as heavy as a period? Hm I don't know. Just rest and see if it lets up, if not and you're still concerned then call your dr.

I bled after mine with my first. Soaked thru my pants. Turned out she was crowning by the time I got to the hospital. Get checked!
