Induction on Valentine's Day

I will be getting induced in 2 days on Valentine's Day because baby is small and they think he will have a better chance to grow on the outside. I will be 39wks and 1day when I go to be induced. I have mixed emotions....scared, nervous, excited. My midwives have been trying to put my mind at ease saying that they are sure I will start contracting on my own after the first dose. I am 4cm and 75% effaced. If anyone has gotten induced can I hear your stories please. No horror storries...I am trying to calm myself down a bit. Thanks  

I was induced both times and it went well. It's good that your already 4cm, your body is already getting ready.

I was induced with my son on Halloween 2006. I was 39w5d, 2cm, and 50% effaced. Mine went like silk. They started me that morning around 7:30 and he was born at 5:25pm. I've heard tons of horror stories, but my personal experience was great. Good luck mama!

I was induced with my now 4 year old and it wasn't a bad experience. No complaints from me. I had a rather positive experience.

I was induced with DD. I was only 1 cm dilated, and not soft at all. They did the Foley bulb, then started pitocin. The contractions were intense, but the induction its self was easy. I was only in labor for 14 hours.

I wasn't induced, but I think it helps when your body is already in the process of getting ready for birth, and yours is! Hope it goes smooth for you!

i am having my baby on valentines day as well!!!!ohhh youll be just fine momma..i am having a section tho..i would love to have a vag birth but i have had 2 sections so they think its safer that way..just think itll all be over with verrrryy soon and youll be going home in few days with your little bittle..i will say a prayer for you since i kn ow how you feel..we are kinda in the same boat..lots of luck

I wasn't dilated of effaced. And I was induced due to my placenta erupting.

It went sooo smooth. They started pitocin at 1pm. And I had her 711pm the same day.

I was induced with my daughter at 40+2 weeks. They started the pitocin around 7:30am and she was born at 3:16pm. Everything went very smoothly. You will do great & congrats!

I was induced with DD. Pit started at 6am. Had DD at 9:27am. So my whole labor and delivery lasted 3 hours & 27 minutes. Oh and I wasn't dilated or effaced at all.
Everything went perfectly!
