having my daughter at the end of the month

posted 12th Feb
Ok, so getting a little anxious, doc is going to be delivering my daughter on the 28th. Starting to get very nervous, not sure what to expect from a scheduled c-section. We are just hoping that I do not go into labor before then but if I do that will be ok I will be 37 weeks on Sunday

I haven't had a scheduled section, I had an emergency one last time but I'm going to be scheduled for one this time. I'm curious to know the full process as I was sort of mostly prepared beforehand. I'd already had a catheter put in because during labour they got worried and started monitoring mine and DS stats. I was confined to a bed, I had an IV inserted for the pitocin but they flushed that before putting me on morphiene in the theatre. They did the spinal, had me move to the surgical table and left me a few minutes to let the anesthetic take effect, checked whether I could feel anything and then started the procedure. It felt like the first part was over relatively quickly, they showed us the baby, took him for quick testing and then brought him back to us while I was cleaned up. It was over in just over an hour (not sure if that's completely normal, I think because I had a few complications with placenta attachment and other things it may have taken longer than average) and then we stayed in recovery for half an hour while they got a room ready. Hope that kind of helps

this will be my first scheduled one as well. my ds was delivered by emergency c-section when i was 33 1/2 weeks because my water had broke while i was admitted for an NST.. while they had me in the OR doing the c-section they had to end up putting me completly under because they had not given me a large enough dose of epidural. that is my worry this time is that i will end of asleep and will not be able to see the baby until i am fully awake
