Epidural

If you had a epi with one of your babies and not with another how did you stick to not getting one!?

It didn't work the first 2 times so I was like whatever, not even going to try. She ended up being my biggest baby and it wasn't any worse than the first two. I kinda wish I had said no to the Epi's from the very beginning instead of getting them and them making me feel even more insecure/scared/anxious when they didn't work.

I was forced into not having one. I had pre-e and HELLP and the anesthesiologist refused to give me one because I could have bleed to death. I think if you really want to and have your mind set to doing it without one you can!

It didn't work, that's all.
Idk what's gonna happen this time. Idk if I want to get stuck in the back again just for it to not work or just try and hope it does or just leave it alone.
But contractions were nothing for me compared to her crowning

I got one with my first and nothing with my second.
With my first, I was scared of the unknown and got one at 7 cm.
With my second, I just kept telling myself that transition is the shortest part and I could do it. And when I whined for drugs, my husband told me how great I was doing and that I would regret getting drugs (which I would have).
I don't know if I could have done it without him.

I didn't have a choice. I saw 6cm by the time I got to L&D, and I was moving along too fast so they refused me. And I flat out BEGGED for it, lol. I wouldn't take it back now though. The contractions sucked, but not having an epi made other things less complicated. The best thing: No catheder(sp?) Those things SUCKED with my first 2 kids.

I was 8cm when I got the epi with my first.
I realized that it was pretty much the end, at that point... So, with my other 3, when it felt like I wouldn't be able to take it anymore, I kept telling myself it was almost over.

Thanks ladies I really want to stick to it this time. Last time I got one after 17 hours of labor and I was only dilated to 4. I got to sleep for like an hour but then it wore off and I felt everything by the end bcuz I still had 10 hours of labor. I just don't wanna give up in the moment
