When in doubt, always make cupcakes! Lol

As long as you have the time, that is.

Cookies seem like they would make less of a mess for that age group.

Are you allowed to take homemade baked goods? We can only bring store bought.

I would do cookies. They make less mess and if they do get messy it's easier to clean up.

Cookies are less messy and they'll actual probably eat them. I teach prek and cupcakes get the frosting licked off, the cake crumbled all over the floor, stepped and mushed into shoes, rubbed off Into the carpet, and thrown in the trash haha. You could ice the cookies real cute like a cupcake but save the teacher(s) some clean up.

Cupcakes! We cannot make our own treats for the class. They only allow store bought stuff & I am a master cupcake maker. It's painful to have to buy things I can make better at home.
Last week, I made from scratch strawberry cupckes with sb buttercream fosting. Then I made a batch of marshmallow fondant and cut out little hearts. So delicious.

Cupcakes are more fun to make/decorate, but I'd opt for sugar cookies cut out into heart shapes and decorate with white icing and red/pink sprinkles! Less mess because the icing will harden and go in their mouth easier, and they'd still be cute!
