I put beef-stew meat
an onion that I've caramelized
beef broth
a stout like Young's double chocolate or some bourbon
salt and pepper
all of that in a dutch oven

We make our sides separate, my husband doesnt care for all of it together for some reason.

I think I used Emril's recipe for slow cooker beef stew for the liquid and how much meat then I added extra veggies.

I use V8 juice as my base. I put carrots, celery, potatoes, onion and garlic in there.
I coat my stew meat in flour, salt and pepper and I lightly brown, drain and transfer to the pot. I will add hot sauce if no kids will be eating it, but now that is rare, so I leave that out.
It is so yummy!
