Could you ever date someone

Who dated a close family member of yours in the past? Lets say, 5-10 years ago.

It honestly would depend on how close i was with said family member and how they felt about that person.

For me it would depend how that family member would feel about it. I wouldn't want any hurt feelings or tension in my family

The thought of being with someone a family member of mine might have slept with is a huge turn off for me.

I forgot to mention in the OP, they never slept together. They were somewhat serious but it was a high school relationship.

Depends on how the family member would feel about it. If they don't care and they never slept together then I see no reason why not.

I still don't think I could. Somewhat serious means feelings were there at one point. Even if those feelings are gone now, for some people those feelings could resurface just by seeing their ex. There would be too many complications involved, and on top of that whether you're close to the family member or not.. You just don't do that to family.

Depends on how serious the relationship was. If it was fleeting, then yes. If it was a serious relationship at all, no. I know if any of my family dated my exes, I would be heartbroken and would not be able to deal with it. That would be the end of my relationship with that family member. But if it was somebody I barely dated in HS, I'd be fine with it. As long as it wasn't somebody I actually loved.

I couldn't that would be one awkward situation especially if you and the family member are at least some what close lol

Idk about a family member but I married my ex best friend's ex husband... we've been together for 13 years so probably lol...

Well, I'm now married to my first real boyfriends cousin. The one I lost my virginity to.
