My V-Day Present

Well I got my Valentine's Day present early.
This guy was actually given to us. His owner went MIA and the woman wanted him out of her house, she was totally freaked out by this guy

He's an awesome dude and as big as he's gonna get. Very tame and docile and enjoys being held.  

What kind is he

I don't mind snakes, had garter snakes when I was a kid, but I've always had the rule that if it's big enough to eat me or my child it isn't living under my roof, lol.

These guys are actually really good pets, but they live a loooong time. 15 years on average. Once they've been tamed they almost never bite and they only grow to be 4ft on average with a diameter about the same as a quarter.

I had a python growing up, but I'd really like to have a grey-banded king snake, but alas I get shot down every time lol

Those are so pretty! I saw a picture of a lavender one last night and decided that'll be this guy's replacement, lol!

I'm not sure I could do a python. I've seen them get to monstrous sizes. Then again, they are running rampant in the Everglades (I grew up in SW FL) and the environment down there is allowing them to get to this insane sizes. Just the thought puts me off, though.

OT but it's funny you say that. We have a really good friend who is homeless (alcoholic, won't get help) and he's been in jail for a few weeks now. I was just telling my husband it would be funny if he showed up on our doorstep

Can you believe he was FREE with all accessories!? The lamp needs to be replaced and we need to get substrate (thank God he uses aspen just like my mice!) but still...smurfing killer.

Her name was big bitch, she was about 6' and I don't even want to think about how big around she was

We're stumped on what to call our guy. We don't even know for sure if he's male or female, just assuming that he's male
