my hair is falling out

I am 3.5 months pp and since about 2m pp my hair has been falling out like never before. It's even starting to become noticeable to others...Why?? and is there anything I can do?!

you may or may not be anemic.

You're still taking your prenatal vitamins right? For nursing? If not, start taking them again and make sure you're getting enough iron.

It might just be from hormones though.

Normal when you are pregnant your hair doesn't fall out as much because of the hormones. When the hormones start to leave your body your hair will go back to before so it'll start falling out like it was supposed to. Pretty much your shedding all that hair you didn't when pregnant and you can't do anything about it.

It happens to everyone. When you're pregnant the chemical that regulates hair cycles basically stops production, so your hair doesn't naturally shed at the same regular intervals it usually does. That's why everyone is nuts about pregnancy hair and nail growth. Once you reach the postpartum stage where that particular hormones goes back to normal you essentially lose all the hair you would have normally lost had you not been pregnant. It really sucks. Happened to me at about 2-4 months PP too and I hated it. Id pull out fistfulls in the shower. It'll be over in no time and it's totally normal.

^^What she said. Mine fell out until I was 7 months PP, I didn't get any bald patches but it helped to get a shorter layered cut so it didn't look so straggly

And no, i'm not taking prenatals & i'm not nursing.

Ugh thats how mine is too. I have to wear it in a pony all the time or else there would be h air everywear, It sucks

Are you on the Depo birth control, if so that is a side affect!

yes! REALLY?! I've been on it before for a year a NEVER had a period..this time i've been off my period MAYBE 3 weeks all together. and losing my hair obviously.
I didn't know that! It didn't happen before..the only side effect last time was no period and I gained weight. no weight gain so far this time..i would rather gain some weight than lose my hair though!!
