4 years after I had my middle son my scar still itched like crazy! Asked the dr about it and he said it was 100% normal!

Mine itched like crazy when the feeling started coming back. Now I have all the sensation/feeling back on the scar and it no longer itches/hurts.

it's the worst feeling!!! I keep scratching at it and the itch just doesn't go away. and it's an odd feeling as I itch too.

either of you know exactly how long they take to heal? I've never actually asked my doctor that. I've read somewhere that it never fully heals inside and out which makes the VBAC pretty risky . Is that right?

I do have some feeling. I never actually tried to see if I did or not until just now. I never even thought about having feeling back on the scar. I just dug my nail into it a little and I sure as hell felt it.

so odd to see how every woman's body responds differently to the cut.

It doesn't make it 'pretty risky'. It does make it somewhat risky depending on the time between pregnancies. The chances of your uterus busting is less and less as more time goes by

I just said that because I've heard of and read that so many doctors won't even do a VBAC due to the fact it could "rupture" or something along the lines of that. Unless I missed somewhere in the conversation/article I read that there was another reason I'm unaware of, I sure hope that's the case for me! I wanted so bad to deliver naturally but I couldn't after being induced.

I'm so hoping that when it comes time for baby #2, I'll be able to have a VBAC and I don't plan on having another for at least 5 years.

lol no worries. It's been over two years since my c-section and it still itches sometimes for some reason.

I was living in WA when I found out I was pregnant with DS#3 and after 2 previous c-sections and it would have been almost 5 years when I would be due I wanted a VBA2C. I was dead set on having a natural birth with no meds no NOTHING! Well things went south there and we had to move the beginning of my 7th month. We moved to NE and the dr I had refused to allow me to do a natural birth due to the town being small and the OR not staffed at all hours of the night so if trouble aroused it might have been to late. I was told that I will probably never have a natural birth now.
My sister was able to have natural birth after c-section. Actually she had 3 natural births after a c-section. She stood her ground and told the dr I will do this I will NOT have another c-section unless it is an emergency. She told him that if he didn't allow her to she would birth in the parking lot until the baby was born and then come in. Thanks to her stubbornness the dr allowed her to even tho he was dead set against it. She had NO complications with the 3 natural births and they are all very healthy and happy kids. her kids are ages 8(c-section), 5, 20 months, and 7 months.
