Please go to sleep!!

My LO wont go to sleep. For the past couple days its been a fight for naps and bedtime. I keep him on a schedule i have a routine but now its like he wants to change it up. I have tried letting him cry but he gets so worked up he starts coughing and choking and he screams for hours and never gives up. Ive tried seeing if I need to change his schedule a little to see if maybe hes just not tired yet but last night he stayed up til 3am and would not go to sleep. He doesnt have a fever hes got normal stools and pee diapers his ears are fine hes not sick. I feel like somethings wrong though. He just wants me to hold him while he sleeps. Im so tired cuz on top of staying up late he wakes up SEVERAL times a night. And then wakes up early morning wanting his "bite" I just cant take it anymore I got more sleep when he was newborn. He is 21 months now. please help me!!!

Go to the doctors then and tell them something is wrong, he never acted like this before so I'd go and just have a check up. Sometimes they can do a sleep test and see why he's not sleeping. Other than that I have no clue sorry
