Potty Training

posted 9th Jun
Okay...I have a 15th month old daughter. I was just wondering what age is a good age to start potty training.

Also, what are some good ways to train children?

This is my first child and I am 3 hours behind my family so its hard to communicate with my family back home, so Im hoping someone can help me =]

Wait until she's closer to 2...

You could just set a potty in the bathroom though and let her sit on it or whatever. I did that with my daughter.

So that will help even though she doesnt know what its for?

I also just saw a thread about the toilets that sit on top and then the little baby ones that sit on their own. Which would you recommend?

We started with a little potty. I put it in the bathroom and then when I was in there going, my daughter would sit on it and pretend to go too. Then when we started getting serious about potty training she HATED that little potty and would cry if we tried to make her use it. So we got one that sits on the toilet and she really liked that for a while. Then she wouldn't use that either. Now she is fully potty trained and uses the little potty. It's nice because I can send it to granma's house to put it in the car for a long trip and she always has the same thing to use. Moral of the story is....it depends on your kid =) I like the little ones because they can get on and off easier. But I know some kids like the ones that sit on the toilet better.
