I don't really trust ultrasounds when it comes to weight. They told me I was having a 10 lb baby a week before I gave birth and he was 8lbs exact.

Where was this first scan done? If it was one of those elective gender reveal spots I would disregard their measurements and trust your doc. Unfortunately the ultrasounds will never be able to give you an accurate birthweight, you may be able to ballpark it in your third tri, but they're super unreliable for weight. As for hoping for an 8 pounder, trust me even an 8 pound newborn will look tiny and vulnerable at first. He'll be perfect to you no matter what size, but your pelvic floor might resent you for hoping for a big guy! Lol

My first baby was 7.1 20 1/2 inches, my 2nd was 8 lbs 21 1/2 inches, my 3rd was 9 weeks early and 2.15lbs and the one im currently 36 weeks with is measuring 6 1/2 pds! they come in all shapes and sizes and theres nothing wrong with wanting a big baby! just remember big doesnt equal healthy! they told me that the u/s could be off on weight so i wouldnt worry to much! and if the baby was moving alot they could have had trouble getting the measurement! if your dr was worried they would repeat the ultrasound hun! Best of luck hope you get your 8 pd baby. Ps my 8 pd boy was my easiest and quickest delievery!!

My DD was 8ld 10, this baby will be under 6lb I have L>A and i have to be induced at 39 weeks maximum (If im lucky enough to make it that far)
So i wish this baby would be an 8lber i dont think OP meant anything bad by it.

With the scans i wouldnt worry too much go with your regular Dr as they have seen baby from the start etc
