5 weeks post miscarriage...

Wednesday will be 5 weeks since my miscarriage. I just stopped bleeding on Saturday. Now I have cramps, I had them yesterday & again today. I just wish my body would get back to normal. Could this be AF? Everything I have raed has said there would be at least 10 days between when the bleeding stops and AF begins again. I have a doctor appointment on Thursday. I was just wondering if anyone else out there bled for as long as I did after their MC? and when did they get their AF?

I had two D&Cs a week apart. My AF came down about 3 1/2 weeks later. I stopped bleeding about 2 weeks after my 2nd D&C.

It could be your AF. I didn't have to have a D&C, so my bleeding lasted about 8 days, and about 3 wks later I had AF. Sorry about your loss!

Was it 3 weeks after you stopped bleeding, or three weeks after your m/c? I hada m/c on 5/27, bled for about a week, and am wondering when AF will come.

Usually if you continue to bleed for longer than 2 weeks, it is because all the tissue hasn't come out of your body. Did you see your doctor to let them know that you were still bleeding, or did you have a d&c? I didn't have a d&C so I'm not really sure what happens afterwards. I just know that if you bleed too much or for too long, usually they want you to have a d&c to get all the tissue out. If you haven't had one, that may be why your body continues to bleed, even after this long.

I don't know the answer to your questions, but my experience so far was that I had a D&C, spotted steadily for 2 weeks exactly and am in my 4th week post-D&C without seeing AF. I know that may not be much help, but it's something to compare yourself to.

I actually had a D&E and that was 5 weeks ago. I have been havingb arely any spotting for 2 days now...but I have cramps. I keep reading about all these women who only bled for a couple weeks ( at the most) and it makes me worry that something is wrong with me. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.

I'm thinking it may be AF. I've heard they can be pretty irregular and short/spotty after a mc. But what do I know? I'd explain it all at your appt and see what the professional says.  

For your sake, I do hope it is AF. You'll be that much closer to trying again! Be sure to let us know what the doc says.

I just got back from the doctor, all in all it was a horrible experience. They were kind and asked me if I would like to go back and wait in a room rather than sit and stare at all those very pregnant women, I agreed. I sat in the exam rrom waiting, but unfortunately I was in a room that was next to th eroom where they do U/S and I got to hear 2 women hear their babies heartbeats....it about killed me!!!!!!
I then had a quick exam by the doc, who didnt seem phased at that it has been 5 weeks and I am still bleeding ( Started again today) He made small talkk with me about my husband and when he is deploying, then he told me that I would have to get hcg levels done, if they were not low ( below 5) they are gonna have to do another D&C ( Or D&E). !!!!!!
I just feel like this pain is neverending, I just want to move on. To top it all off, if they have to do another, I will be going alone, my hubby has to leave for training for a monthnext week.  I am just so sad.

That's horrible. They should have gotten everything out when they did the first D&C. Dr's are so unsympathetic. Do they not understand how it makes us feel to have a m/c?? Much less, have to be reminded of it for 5 weeks just to have a second d&c. That's just like making you go through the whole process over again.
