To me, caring about a persons eternity is hardly unloving.

It is when you (general you) make the other person feel like they're worthless in the process of "saving their soul".

I haven't seen anyone in the thread that would purposely make someone feel worthless.
Plus, I don't think that you CAN save anyone's soul. It's theirs to save. I just mean that if they are your child and you are Christian, you are supposed to teach the Bible. What anyone does after that is up to them. I certainly would not preach to them every time I saw them. I would, however, pray all the time about it. I couldn't do anything more than that.

I never once used the word unloving....

Right. I did, though. I don't think it's mean, heartless, cold_hearted or any other ill intentioned adjective, either.
It's being MORE than hinted at, in this thread, that it is a cruel thing to voice your thoughts if your child is homosexual and you feel strongly opposed to it.
Christians tend to think about the long term more than temm
Porary happiness.

Do you not worry about how much you might hurt them? My aunt is a lesbian and my Gram refuses to acknowledge her wife, did not attend or acknowledge her wedding and calls her an abomination at every phone conversation. I know how much it must hurt her and she is in counselling. She has horrible MS and my Gram won't even go visit her.because she doesn't want to see them living together. I just so not understand how a parent could.want that for their child.

I would rather my sons fall in love and be happy in a healthy, productive relationship with whoever that may be rather than my son be gay, pretend to fall in love with a woman, get married and have to hide who he is forever. Even if he wants a sex change, I would not care. It is his life and I am here to support and root for them always. Him being gay means nothing to me. Him wanting a sex change means nothing to me. It is not like he is a different person. Unconditional love <3

Would not care in the slightest. I am a supporter of Gay Rights and Equality anyways.
I would want them to live in a Gay-Friendly Open-Minded Community though,. to avoid feeling like an outcast.
Being gay/lesbian would never change the fact that those are my beloved children,. and that I loved them from the second I laid eyes on them, birthed love and raised them,. and who they are as people,.
Their future partners would be considered a son/daughter in law and part of my family just as if they married heterosexually,.
