Are these Braxton Hicks?

Excuse my ignorance here.  

I never had BH with my daughter. Hell, I never had a single non-pitocin-induced contraction with her either.

During the day, I am on my feet for about 6 straightish hours. About an hour in, I get sharper pains in my belly. They feel similar to the feeling you get in your side if you are running for a long time? IDK if other people get those or not but that is what it feels like. I don't think my stomache gets "hard" at all or "tight" like most posters say. Its just a painful feeling that comes and goes here and there.

I'm guessing they are BH but I'm not sure. Sound familiar?

That just sounds like round ligament pains to me. Braxton hicks for me feels like someone starts squeezing my abdomen harder and harder. It doesn't really hurt persay but it takes my breath away

No, that sounds more like round ligament pains. I get them too when I'm standing/moving around for too long. It's just a pain you get in the ligaments supporting your uterus when they start to get worn out from the weight.

Braxton hicks are uncomfortable but should not hurt, and should involve tightening going from the top of your uterus down for about 15 seconds to 2 minutes.

I'd put money on that being round ligament pain, not BH.

No that really doesn't sound like BH. Not mine anyway. When I get them they are a tightening through my abdomin that is uncomfortable but there is no pain. My stomach gets really hard all around and it feels like I'm being squeezed kind of, it's uncomfortable and make me winded, but no pain. Which is typically what BH are like.
Bag you talk to your doctor about it? Pain is not good.

ETA: I just stood up to go to the bathroom and was reminded about round ligament pains. That's what it sounds like and they are harmless.

I think it sounds like you need to sit down and eat some chocolate.  


I agree with what the others said, my BH definitely included tightening...uncomfortable, but not painful.

The RLP idea definitely makes sense. It does feel like a sharper pulling...like I pulled a muscle. IDK why I didn't think of that. Pregnancy brain?

And these hurt like hell, BTW. lol  

Dee, I would LOVE some chocolate during the day. I barely have time to think. lol

My BH felt like I was having a charlie horse in my stomach.

I totally wanted to sneak chocolate today while at CC with the kids. They were INSANE today.
