What could be the problem?

I have been trying to figure out why my one year old son has had a diaper rash for months. I switch diapers and that didnt work. I used cream and that didnt work. One day it dawned on me that it might be because of our daily smoothies (causing his urine to be acidic). I haven't given him a smoothie in days and his bum is a lot better (not back to normal, but definitely a noticeable difference).
This makes me sad because smoothies are so good for him and his 3 year old brother drinks them every day. It''ll be near impossible to give one a smoothie and not the other.
Anyone have any idea what part of the smoothie could be causing the bad reaction (based on experience, I know you're not psychic)
We usually have everything in them - strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, grapes, pineapple (but just recently so not the cause), kiwi ( again recently), yogurt, mango and apple juice.
Thanks in advance or your help.

Strawberries are an extremely common culprit for reactions in babies.

All of the acid from the fruits
Maybe he's allergic?

Eliminate each thing in the smoothie for a week each. That should give you plenty of time to see if he has a reaction or not.

My daughter used to react badly to too much fruit like strawberries and blue berries and especially apples.
You could slowly cut out different fruits to see which it is, but I'm betting it just the fruits period.
I still have to cut her fruit juice with water. Perhaps make his "smoothie" very lax on the fruits and have it mostly yogurt?

Is he drinking apple juice thru the day aside from the smoothie??

Yeah. I don't think the juice is the problem but when he drinks it, it's usually 50/50 with water so who knows.

Thanks ladies. Maybe I'll do it on a weekly basis as suggested and slowly starting adding fruits until i find the culprit. I'll try eliminating strawberries first and see how that goes.
Just bummed. I thought it was great that they loved smoothies. I also add vegetables in there (corn, carrots, spinach) but i know that's not the problem because he's had those for a long time.
Thanks again for your help.

If DS has more than one sippy cup of apple juice a day, even if its mixed half with water, he gets softer stools and sometimes gets a diaper rash
