Breast Question

posted 11th Feb
About 2 months ago I got this red patch on my boob and it took forever to go away. Last month 3 more popped up and I had showed my doctor. She said that they weren't hives and wasn't sure what was the cause. Now I have about 7 those including the three from last month and they have tripled in size. They don't hurt or itch. They start of red and now they are red around the edge and pale in the middle.

Any one else experience this or now what is going on?

Is it a round red ring?

it starts off as a raised red patch about half an itch wide all around. Then after about 2 1/2 weeks it grows to a bigger size usually about an 1 1/2 inches an will slowly begin to fade. The inside fades faster and starts to peel. The outside of the circle is a faded red to pink color.

I am picturing ring worm.

Have you tried putting any creams on it? It would be worth a try to put on some antifungal for a few weeks.

I think it may be melasma. When I was 17 I was on birth control, and I got red patches all along my neck and a few on my stomach. They eventually faded to a light brown color. I talked to my doctor about it, and she said it was melasma, caused from the hormonal imbalances that my birth control caused. Once I stopped taking it, they went away. Im now almost 32 weeks pregnant, and I have two small red patches between my breast, that I noticed about two weeks ago. Melasma (also known as the mask of pregnancy) is caused from an increase in your estrogen levels. Which could be from pregnancy, birth control, or just a natural change. It normally occurs on sun exposed areas, but that was never the case for me. I would bring it up to your doctor, and see if she thinks it may be melasma, or something else. If it is melasma, I can assure you that it will eventually go away. I hope this helps.

Quoting Luneth's Mommy(::" I think it may be melasma. When I was 17 I was on birth control, and I got red patches all along my neck ... [snip!] ... it may be melasma, or something else. If it is melasma, I can assure you that it will eventually go away. I hope this helps."

I don't think it's Ring Worm or my doctor probably would have mentioned it.

As for the Melasma, it sounds plausible because I'm pregnant and my doctor did say that it was probably just pregnancy related and from the hormones.

I just feel so gross with it.

I was going to guess ringworm but if it doesn't itch then I doubt it would be that.
