Why isn't homeschooling an option? Because someone can't be home with them? Just curious because they have public school curriculum that a child can do at home. They have the support of school staff and all that jazz. I wouldn't have a problem leaving a 13 year old at home to do his/her schoolwork.

I'd also check and see what other alternative learning programs there are in the town I live in. In one town close to here they have a school called Premiere and it is for kids with learning troubles because of bullies, ADHD type things, and other environmental problems with regular public school.

yes that is why homeschooling wasn't an option.

Oh! I should mention charter schools. Maybe there's something like that around you. It's free, and it's a good alternative. That's what I'm planning on for Ainsley if she doesn't get into the elementary school in this district.

Check out charter. It's definitely a good option. It's kind of like montessori in the way they teach. Also, the better the students do, the better the teachers get paid.

I'm currently homeschooling both of my sons because of ADHD issues and fighting with their school because I wouldn't put them on meds. I have learned a TON of information about curriculums, costs, and activities that I'd be more then happy to share.

They kind of go more off of the kids interests, and although they teach every subject, they're more of a kid led learning thing.
