Eh, I've done that a few times lol. My mom grilled me about my sex life and I was very open with her. She took me to get BC, bought me condoms, and emphasized that if I got pregnant and chose to keep the baby, she would not support me. And let me tell you, I was no Pollyanna in high school - I got around lol. But I made every guy wear a condom every time because my mom got them for me while pounding it in my head that STDs and pregnancy are no fun.

Lol. Before I was even having sex my Mom would accuse me of having hickeys when I didn't.

It took my mom forever to come around this pregnancy.... and even now she still doesn't approve of it. But I am her daughter and she will never abandon me.

She thought I had hickeys when I didn't.
My neck is sensitive and is easily irritated. Even with normal soap. So I would be walking around and out of nowhere she'd be like "I see that hickey!" and I'd tell her it wasn't and she'd be like "Uh huh. Riiiiight."

I thought my mom was going to rip me a new one with both pregnancies but each time she surprised me with her glee lol.

I do not support it, and wouldn't hope it for anyone who is not finished with school or a teenager.

I got pregnant at 14, I am now 22. I have been through situations that I wish no mother, ever.. let alone a teenager.

Babies are so unpredictable, and you never know what is going to come out of getting pregnant at a young age.

I was a teen mom.

I'm completely against teenage pregnancy. I do not want it for my daughters and will do everything in my power to make sure they escape it.

I'd also like to point out that it's not always a bad thing to be deemed hypocritical.

Seriously! If I'm a hypocrite for actively preventing (or trying to) and disapproving of thing I did at a young age I'm fine with that. I want better for them. I had a crap childhood and I might not have done a lot of what I did if I had a firmer upbringing. I might have still done it who knows? I at least want to know I did what I could.

What you need to try and keep in mind is no matter how much you express to her you will not allow her to be having sex, as a teenage girl she's going to think she knows it all and will be likely to do it anyway if that's what she wants to do. Statistically, teaching abstinence just is not effective or realistic.

And you're right, not every girl is destined to be sexually active in her teens. But most girls are. I just think it makes more sense to risk her interpreting you getting her BC as your willingness for her to have sex, over risking a teenage pregnancy.
