Tons of cramping at 15 weeks

posted 11th Feb
It's my second pregnancy and I don't remember cramping this much or this far into the pregnancy last time. I've been drinking 128 ounces of water every day. I go back to see my Midwife Wednesday and I plan to bring it up with her. I'm just wondering if this is normal or not. Sometimes they are pretty painful, other times it's just a dull and constant ache.

dude, I hear ya. I have had loads more pain this pregnancy. At 15 weeks, my belly hurt so bad I was so worried but it went away. It was just growth. Its very normal. My midwife says every baby brings a little more pain and cramping. Its very true for me.

That's what I figured. Only reason why I'm worrying so much is during my first pregnancy, when I brought up that I was cramping, my OB ordered an ultrasound right then and there to make sure everything was okay.

Eh some doctors are more worried than others. I appreciate the ones that take you seriously when you're worried though. I freaked out during 13 weeks because my uterus wasn't poking out (its retroverted lol) and I was worried there wasn't a heartbeat (for no reason) She had no problem with me coming in and letting me hear the heartbeat. Love my midwife. Just try not to worry. I'm sure you'll be feeling movement soon and that will help a lot

I've felt a few little movements. The first one was clearly little Sprout moving and I cried. It was pretty awesome.

It totally makes the pains and discomforts worth it.

Sometimes those sorts of issues can be caused by UTI's. Sometimes is round ligament pain. It can be a whole bunch of stuff. I'd let your midwife know and make sure she listens to what you're saying. If you're worried about it, which it sounds like you are, you should be thoroughly checked out.

In my case, it normally means i'm dilating (yes it can happen at 15 weeks if you're one of the lucky ones) and/or having contractions. Actually last pregnancy I had cramping that started at 10 weeks, funnled by 11 weeks and dilated to 2cm by 12.5 weeks. Because I was being watched so closely anyway, it wasn't as big of a deal as it should have been. I got my cerclage a bit early and got put on progesterone earlier and put on anti-contraction meds early.

A little bit of prevention goes a long way toward a long boring pregnancy.

my pregnant life, in a nutshell =/

OP, if you're not high risk or haven't had any complications I wouldn't worry too much... it could be baby moving to get comfortable, round ligament pains, uti pains, ect. Speak with a midwife to rule out infections to ensure that's not it.

I'm 15 weeks too.
I don't remember cramping as much with my daughter either.
This time is a whole different story. The doctor checked and everything is perfect.
So, I feel ya.

I will definitely be bringing it up. She is such a warm, loving woman. I know she will take my concerns to heart. Roll on, Wednesday. I just want to be sure everything is okay. I just worry more this time around because I have my 15 month old that I pick up and play with all the time.

I'm sure everything is fine   If it makes you feel better, my sons are 18 months to 2 years apart (4,2, and 1 right now). I have high risk pregnancies and none of them were significantly harder because of having young children. It was a little more stressful, but no more complicated than normal. ;)

Probably but I tend to worry myself needlessly. Lol.

right?! i always giggle when my "normal" pregnant friends complain about cramping at 30+ weeks.. im like try doing it since early weeks and every single day.. or the "my vagina feels like it's gonna fall out" i always say, try having a baby push on stitches in your cervix.. that is discomfort...
