rash

DS has a rash on his left cheek moving sown to the corner of his mouth to his chin and starting on his right cheek. A nurse about a week ago told us to use A&D ointment to see if it helped. It didnt. Its raised and rough and bright red. It has heat to it also. We have never put anything on his face besides the A&D ointment we were told to use. He has a low grade fever (99.4-99.9, rectally) but hes teething also. He spiked a 102.3 fever last Friday but the pediatrician couldnt find any cause. We havent given him anything new food wise either. Any ideas? Were going to the dr today for it.


It doesnt look like acne. There arent sores. He doesnt itch it and it doesnt bother him in any way.

We went to the dr and she said it was eczema. We got some aquaphor baby wash and lotion to see if that helps. We also got 1% cortizone cream and vasaline to put on it.

My LO has Ezcema too! I just used the 1% cortisone on the bad spots. Used tons of lotion! I Also bought a humidifier to put the moisture back in the air because the heaters dry the air up. Also, try to give the baby a bath every other day. The water is harsh on their skin and its good to leave the natural skin oil on!

ou pedi actually told us to bathe him every day because the reason it actually started actig up is because he is teething and drooling MAJORLY! You have never seen a child drool this much lol, and he sleeps on his tummy too so if he drools or spitsup at night and then lays down and sleeps on it.

Maybe its just different causes then? My LO doesn't drool all that much, only bathe her every other day and then drown her skin in lotion and so far she has not had any flare ups since the very first time when I took her to the ER about 2 months ago. But I think different things trigger flare ups and its not just one thing you know? One thing might work for mine, another for yours!
