TTC but dont like sex

I have been trying to conceive for a while now. Started oct 2011 and got preg right away but hen a miscarriage end of nov.. then my period went weird etc for a few month. bled 3 diff times in jan and in march it never came, now its back to normal. been taking opks since may. But lately I havent really tried I didnt do opks in dec or jan and Ive gotten lazy about it. I really want a baby and I always tell myself Im going to try but when it comes down to it I dont do it and me and SO only have sex 1 or 2 times a month. Im never in the mood or feel like it.   I really want a baby so I dunno what is my problem... I used to be skinny but my thyroid caused me to gain weight, I dunno if that is part of the reason I never feel like it, I dunno.

You only have sex 1-2 times a month! I feel for your SO. I think maybe you should work on that before worrying about TTC. Take to someone or see a doctor. Your sex life is not going to improve with a LO in the picture and your relationship is going to start going down hill really fast if your sex life doesn't improve. Hugs GL

Yes your thyroid can effect your sex drive it sure did mine. And birth control only made it worse, we were only having sex like once a month. Now the only time i want it is if my levels are decent and if i was ovulating. And now that im pregnant and am super nervous and my thyroid is going crazy i want nothing to do with sex again.

unfortunateley i dont have your lack of sex drive. but! if you really want a baby, you have to try everything you can to get yourself in the mood. lingerie is simple and helps some women. i would try something called neuro, they have different drinks, one is for passion...like helps you get in the mood...havnt tried that one exactly but ive tried 3others like one for sleep, energy and hunger curb and calming and they all work greeat!!!
its worth a shot!
if that fails, just do it. when im in a dry spell i just start and in no time im ready to go and glad i made the mood lol

we have been together for 10 years. And our relationship has not changed because of it

Yes weird thyroid levels can affect your periods and hormone levels. It might not be a bad idea to get your hormone levels checked at your OB's just in case.

aww ya, my dr knows I want a baby but she doesnt tell me anything. All I know is that my thyroid is regulated and dr says everything else looks good, just had a physical etc.

Lol, yea. I never really liked sex, I dunno why but yea we used to do it all the time when we first started doing it but we have been together for so long and yea I looked way different before so I think I felt different too, I dunno maybe its all in my head lol

For me, I think it was the miscarriage that messed up my period cuz it was right after and it went back to normal after that. I do think that I had the thyroid issue for a long time before finding out though because I was skinny and then I gained weight fast and it was like a year before I asked dr for a blood test, if I never asked for one I wouldnt know about the thyroid. Even then she wasnt going to do anything because she said it was sub clinical but my SO asked for the thyroid bloodtest which showed I had positive antibodies so thats when I started the pills and been taking them for exactly 1 year now.

are you seeing a specialist and asking for your blood results? Mine say low normal all the time. I actually look at the numbers. Normal range is .4 to 4.0 most people feel human and normal around 2. he was giving me a clean bill of health at a .63 and i fought him to up me. I was at 1.4 last i checked and feel decent.

is your hyper or hypo thyroid? I was at 7 which is before i started pills, started pills at 25mcg then tested and it was 5 and so dr uped it to 50 mcg and in june it was 2 and so thats it I've been on 50 mcg but I got a blood test on monday when I had my physical so Im going to see if it has stayed in normal range and see what it is now

Those are big differences! I'm hypo, i think he is keeping me low because my mom had cancer.
