You are definitely not out of line. I think I would be going as high up as I could go, if not risking getting in trouble and just removing my child from school. They have no rights to put their hands on your kid, unless it's a safety issue (like fighting or something).

It is!! We are so frustrated with this crap. I'm at a loss though, really.

Any place you feel like your child is being abused you can report it to CPS. You can report daycares to CPS. If they can't help you they will tell you what agency can.

I would be raising HELL if any one EVER laid their hands on my child at school. I am pretty positive that is against the law. I will ask my sister about it the next time I see her. She is in her last year of college to be a teacher and has just started doing lessons and teaching as part of her schooling.

Well DS is a perfectionist. He probably is very OCD like DH. He messed up writing the letter H (he made the stem too long I guess??) and he got up, threw away the paper, went and grabbed another. His teacher made him get the paper out of the trash, un crinkle it, (Seriously, that's a very traumatizing thing for this kid. He can't handle when things aren't just "so"..) and finish writing on it.

He started crying, she made him go stand in the corner, and he refused. So she grabbed his arm, dragged him out of the class, and he went all fetal position/noodle legs on the hallway floor. So she picked him up and took him into the principals office.

Like I really don't see what the huge smurfing deal is over that. It's a piece of paper.

Well they keep CLAIMING it's a safety issue because supposedly he is hurting himself and kicking his 5'6" teacher in the face (mind you the kid is like 48" max.)

Also I know him. He's not one to sit there and intentionally hurt himself. He can hardly handle it when DD gives him a high 5 and misses and hits his arm.

Have you had a parent/teacher conference with this woman? I don't think I'd feel comfortable sending my child to school to be honest.

Well that makes sense!!I never thought of that!!! I wonder if we can't just go down there and take the letters and explain to them that this is not normal of DS at home.

I understand that kids act differently at school but I really feel that a lot of these actions are instigated BY the teacher/principal as well as other students who have seemingly figured out that they can make DS their scapegoat and never get in trouble.

Honestly just about the post about the paper, that is smurfing stupid of the teacher. Smurf that smurf. I would pull him out against court order to do so, but it would be in the best interest of the child. Why do you have a court order for that if you don't mind me asking.

Yes. We have had several. She is very defiant about what we say needs to happen. She has blatantly said that she ignores DS because he requires too much attention and he "needs to learn that the world doesn't revolve around him"

Well sure, the world doesn't revolve around him. And I don't expect you to give him tons of EXTRA attention, but give him the time of smurfing day. I'm not comfortable with it. But technically he's not my kid so I can't change anything.

He is my step son. His mother had that thrown in there. Originally we didn't think it was gonna be a problem but it has been this entire year.

ETA: by "there" I mean thrown into the custody paperwork. Since we won full custody she decided she wanted to put a ton of stipulations on it.

Personally I would not tolerate any physical contact eith my child, unless it was to keep him from har ming himself or others, but still that would have to be very extream. I'd be making a complaint and transferring my child to another class or school depending on what sction they took on the situation.
