I don't know how people fail the GED. Seriously.

They made me sit through 12 hours of classes that I just sat in the back on my phone in.

Test day came, I had something like 7 hours to finish the test. I finished in just under an hour and was 95th percentile or higher in every category. It's seriously cake. But so was that stupid OGT I had to take when I DID go to HS.

I have heard that everyone has to take the Compass unless you take the ACT or SAT.

I took the ACT and got a 31 so they put me in classes accordingly. I did take another test to "test out" of some of the prereq classes but I have no idea what that was called.

I think that's how it is in most states. Here, if you're under a certain income level, you get school paid for plus living money. Not enough to completely support you but enough to help.

I enjoyed High School. I had college classes available to me as a JR that I got credit for. I had great friends, danced on the dance team and over all learned who I wanted to be. I wish I spent less time with my douche bag boyfriend but, cant win them all. Lol

It makes sense to help young moms out who are more likely to be single and not have a way to support themselves. I mean 4 years of expenses vs 18 years of some sort of support makes sense long term.

ETA:Obviously there are other criteria. They won't just take any kid because they were homeschooled. But they do have a percentage of the students from those backgrounds because they are extremely susceptible to learning because they weren't shoved through the system.

No, I really don't. I really can't stand people my age. The majority of them are very immature and have very little understanding of life outside of the cookie cutter mold that public schooling puts you in. I was on the swim team. I did well with that. But I thought everything else was very pointless and trivial. Though I have always been one to look at the bigger picture in life. Not just those piddly four years.

Exactly.

Actually, DH had his college paid for because him and his ex wife had DS and their combined income was like $19k. So they gave DH a full ride grant and then some other supplemental thing.

I am having a very hard time believing much of what you say. You are tooting your horn pretty loudly. No, they don't "reserve" 10% of their admissions for homeschooled or unschooled. If they can fit the testing criteria and meet requirements, they can get in just like anyone else. No Ivy League school sets aside any percentage of any of their admissions for any special group. It is called discrimination.

Tell me how many universities you applied to. If your brother was accepted to an Ivy League school, why didn't you mention the name right off? Need to think about it a bit?

I have applied to 2 schools and have been accepted into both. I don't care about an Ivy League school to be totally honest. I know what I'm doing with my life, which, frankly, doesn't require me to have some special school backing me.

You are pretty focused on how awful those piddly 4 years were. They aren't the highlight of my life but they certainly were my formative years. Then again, I guess it is different when you are graduating with the same people you went to kindergarten with. I have had many of the same friends for 30 years.

Well that opportunity was never given to me since I had to move a lot. I think I turned out alright. People make it out to be like it's some glorious thing and it's really not.

Right. Your story. Tell you what, if my sister was accepted to an Ivy League school, I would be bragging about her and how proud of her I am. I would say exactly what school and what her desired career choice was.

Yes you are. You have been talking up how smart you are in here. How pathetic high school is and basically that you were better than the people in your age group.

I don't believe you applied to two universities. If you did and were accepted to both, with your "scores", there is no reason you didn't go to a university and get your BSN rather than take online classes and now to start nursing school in 8 months. Earning you an associates of science in nursing. Someone as smart as you say you are should have been able to challenge your generals at the university and get your degree at least 1 year faster.
