formula vs 2% milk

Has anyone given their baby 2% milk rather than formula before they turned a year old? how was it for your baby? I would like to hear about good and bad experiences!!! thanks in advance!!!

It's not recomended until a year old, and then they say whole milk.

No. It's terrible for their digestive systems to drink cows milk anyway, let alone giving it to them early. But you should be giving whole milk.

You're not suppose to (the last I heard, that is) give a child younger then a year old milk. They need formula/breast milk until at least then. They get all their nutrients from formula that they cannot get with regular 2% milk.

I started mixing a little before a year but with whole milk. They need the fat in whole milk until 2 years old.

Why would you take away formula? thats what they need for the first year.

I went from formula to almond milk and started a slow transition at 11 months. We ran out of both one night so I gave her 4oz of 2% for bed. She had the worst stomach ache and constipation ever. That was the end of cows milk.

I didn't. I gave my son whole milk at 12 months and then switched to skim at age 2.

2% milk doesn't have the right/enough nutrition or fat for a baby. I gradually mixed whole milk/breast milk about a wk and a half after she turned 1.

By the way her baby might be 7 months..
