If you want to take your under 3 month old with a borderline fever to the ER where there are genuinely sick people with serious illnesses, by all means. I would never recommend that to another mom though with a baby unless there was something serious going on.

Do you have any personal experience with a baby getting a fever that young? Because I do. Lots of it. I wouldn't go insulting a doctor because you got a few links from Dr. Google.

I also never said she should give her baby Tylenol for a 100.4 fever. I said 102 or higher.

Actually I do, and now I'll chose to ignore the person that believes OP's 7 week old shouldn't have anything done until the fever reaches 104.. If the kid was 2-3-4 then sure, but not at 7 weeks old

I was a little thrown by that. My kids were never taken in unless their fever was 101. That was my mark. Mine also never got sick before about the 6 month mark though. I have spring twins and a summer baby. I also never rushed them in unless it was obvious they weren't feeling good. A fever is one thing. I looked for a secondary sign. Tugging on the ears, extreme fussiness ext....

She's been screaming for the past three hours and has only ate 2 oz since her last feeding at like 7:30, its almost 1.

ANd also, would it be okay to let her sleep in her diaper with a light blanket since she's so hot?

I would take her in. When my kids scream like that, they have ear infections. That is just me though.

I also have 3 kids. Per my Pedi, 3 of them actually, since we've lived in different areas each time, they made it clear that if the temp hits 100.4 and they're under 3 months old, it's an emergency situation. It's not old advice, either. DD turned 1 yesterday and that was the instructions given when she was 8 weeks old, because she wasn't feeling well.

same info the hospital gave me when I was discharged and same as her pedi gave me at her first visit.

Looks like my "random baby site google info" was correct.
