Daily schedule for a 3 and 1 year old

posted 10th Feb
I am a SAHM and we have never really been the type of family to bed on a schedule. The kids kinda wake up whenever go to bed in a general time frame but I feel like our life is just chaos at times. Im sure it contributes to my oldests freak outs because there is no rhyme or reason to our days. The hardest about being on a schedule is my husbands work schedule his day plus commute can be 14-16 hours. I always try to wait dinner for him so he can see the kids but that sometimes means dinner isnt until 8 or 9 at night and we try to have the kids in bed no later than 9:30. I threw together my first attempt at a schedule. Any helpful advice/feedback would be great. Thanks

Daily Schedule:
8-8:15- Wake up
8:30-9- Breakfast
9-9:30 Get dressed/brush teeth/clean up breakfast
9:30-10- TV show (mom prep dinner)
10-12 daily activity (playgroup/walk/park)
12-12:15 get ready for lunch
12:15-12:45 lunch
12:45-1- Clean up lunch
1-3: Nap for Katy
Educational activity savannah (memory game, numbers, letters, drawing, craft) Finish prepping dinner if needed
3-5:30 Afternoon activity (playgroup, craft, signing time, park, walk, run errands)
5:30-5:45(6)- Dinner on the table (tv show for kids)
6-6:30 dinner
6:30-6:45- dinner clean up
6:45-7:30ish- Free Play/ Daddy gets home

Seems good to me! I need to make one for when I'm off this summer.

I just cant take it anymore. I know im lazy when I dont have to do something. Im hoping the schedule will help everyone out. Katy is back to not sleeping at night, Savannah's outbursts are just horrible. Will isnt happy because it means he miss dinner every night but I dont know what else to do.

My sons are 1,2 and 4.

Our schedule is pretty similar except wake up time happens whenever they wake up and sometimes they end up snuggling under the covers with me until someone wants breakfast. IMO, it would be very difficult to control wake-up time unless you had an alarm clock or something.

This is our normal schedule:

Wake up time : Between 7am to 9am
Breakfast when everyone's awake.
Unscheduled play time.
Snack around 10:30 (fruit-vegis)
More play time
Lunch at 12pm
Bathtime if it's a bathday or about another half an hour of play time
Story time
1-2pm Nap Time starts for my 1 year old and 2 year old. Quiet time for my oldest (books, tablet,tv,etc.)
Wake up time between 3 and 3:30pm
Snack
Craft or other activity
Dinner prep and tv time around 5pm
Dinner around 6pm
Playtime
Bedtime at 8pm

They usually wake up between 8 and 8:30 now and go to bed between 9 and 10. Its not a strict schedule as more of a guideline for the day and trying to keep things in order.

You two can still have dinner together!

The boys do better on a schedule too.

Thats my thought. Savannah has been having major eating issues anyway so its not like we enjoy a nice family dinner anyway.
