I was told it was high risk as first was severe

I was told it was genetic. My mother, grandmother and great aunt had it.
My great aunt died after seizure ( but op medicine has improved lol)
My mother had eclampsia- seizure etc...
I'm blessed medicine has improved.

One article I read, stated that subsequent pregnancies with the same partner are much less likely to develop pre-e.

I believe it can also be passed from the fathers side! Weird!

i went to the hospital to be induced ended up with two seizures then an emergency c-section. i am now 28 weeks with my second with all of my previous symptoms but i had an mri just last week and so far so good. hoping for the best!

Ladies, they are completely smurfing clueless about what causes it. Lol

All they know is that they THINK you are at a greater risk if you are:
*Either very young (under 19) or old (over 35)
*Gain a lot of weight
*It's your first pregnancy
*You have had it with a subsequent pregnancy
*You are having a baby with a different father

Which is like.... SO many people. Ha.

how far down the line can it go? i know my immediate family and 1st cousins havent had it on either side. some dont even know what it is! it sucks because my sister and my cousins all got to have healthy pregnancies and go into labor on their own.

I wish they'd figure it out!
