DD won't wear shoes!

posted 10th Feb
i have been trying since birth but either she kicks them off or someone takes them off "because she doesn't like them". She's 8 months old and i see babies younger than her all over wearing shoes. does your LO wear shoes? surely i'm not the only one with a baby that has a fit about shoes?

I didn't put shoes on my LO until either of them started learning how to walk.

Seemed pointless to me.

She doesn't need shoes right now so I wouldn't really worry about it.

Until Dex was walking we just kept him in socks. Once he was up and running we got soft soled shoes, and he likes them.

Mine wont keep shoes on either. She is almost walking so I wanted to get her used to them but she pulls them right off. Its not really a big deal until they walk anyway. Its better for their feet to be feer.

When my daughter was that age I only had her wear "Robeez" shoes because I read that hard sole shoes aren't good for the development of their feet. She didn't start wearing hard-soled shoes until she started running and walking outside on the sidewalk. I could see how they would be uncomfortable.

I don't think shoes are necessary until they start walking, tbh.

my DS is 2 and still hates wearing shoes, so long as he'll wear shoes in stores and outside I don't bother with putting them back on

well, she's practicing walking (won't stand on her own yet though). she'll walk while holding your hands so i thought we should try to get her used to shoes now.

Baby shoes are so pointless.

I don't make them wear shoes until they start walking outside the house. She really doesn't need shoes at 8 months, I would just stop trying to force it. Wait until summer when the shoes are less restricting, she might tolerate sandals a little bit better than full coverage sneakers and stuff.

My 10 month old is just now wearing size 2 but we havent been able to find any big enough to fit her until recently and she freezes up like a cat when we put them on her

She might not like the shoes because they are uncomfy or too hard? Try some softer shoes...or, until she is walking, just skip it. My almost-year old doesn't wear shoes

Shoes actually hinder walking, bare feet is best. It helps them get a better grip.

all the shoes she has are soft soled. my parents got her crocks. i think they are cute on little kids but ugly on teens/adults (no offense to anyone). i'm hoping she'll like them better. they're still too big though.

The best way for her to learn to walk is bare foot.
