extreme constipation in toddler?!
posted 10th Feb
My DD is almost 14 months old and she always has solid poops.
But lately she's been constipated to the point that she screams and screams because the poop is so big and hard.
Well today she screamed and cried like she was dying for about 30 minutes and when she finally pooped I swear it looked like she was literally going to rip open. I don't see how she pushed that poop out.
What can I do? She's not a fan of apple juice and she won't eat apples or prunes.
Help?

Make sure she is eating lots of fiber rich foods. Maybe talk to the doctor as well.

Does she eat and drink a lot of dairy? That can add to constipation.
Oatmeal will help. Prune juice. Dried prunes.

Does she like peaches or pears? Those help my kids. Make sure she is eating high fibre foods and fresh fruit and grains. Oatmeal and brown rice.

Raisins works wonders for my DD. She just turned 3. When she is constipated, she eats a few raisins, has a bit of water, and it's a 10-minute wait and off she goes to the toilet.
