Not okay. Her parents should have a talk with her. I'm sure she knew it was wrong, but that curiosity got the best of her. I'm not sure legally what could be done or if I would press charges. I guess you could contact the police and see if they could do anything. Not sure I'd go that route, but it is your child.so your call. Can you talk to her and find out why she did it?

I would have a talk with the mother and the 12 yr old. CPS wont do anything lol.

I mean i see where the mom is upset. You wouldn't want a random person putting their boob in your kids mouth. Its just odd. But I don't think it should have went as far as her calling CPS.

Some people go farther than it needs to go in the first place. She was probably curious. There's a delicate way to approach this.

It's not like this is a 35 year old man who tried to breastfeed her baby, this was a child...

I think it's somewhat telling of our culture that a twelve year old girl can explore the sexual nature of her breasts and that's normal. But if she shows curiosity about the biological purpose for breasts then she's doing something wrong and has CPS called on her?
She should not have pretended to bf another child. But all she needed was a talking to about how breast feeding is only between mother and child.

She's exploring with someone ELSE'S kid. That's not okay. Not saying she should have CPS called on her, but you can't cross boundaries like that and have it be no big deal. And she's old enough to know that, IMO.

no the 12 year old shouldnt have done it but calling cps is wrong..just explain to them that only there mommy can feed them and thanks for trying to help but drop it from there

Did you read the last two sentences of my post? I said the same exact thing. She shouldn't have pretended to bf another persons child

It's gross and that kid has issues but I wouldn't call CPS lol, people are crazy.

I certainly wouldn't take my child around that sneaky, weird child again though.

I wasn't addressing that. I was addressing the fact that I don't think it's "telling" of anything to be weirded out by a 12 year old trying to breastfeed someone else's kid. It's not okay to "explore" like that, and being offended by it doesn't make our culture intolerant. It makes us protective of our children.

Im sorry I misunderstood. I was addressing the fact that the mother's reaction was to call CPS. Not saying that its not okay to explore with another child, but since her actions were out of curiosity, she only needs to be talked to about the situation. So I guess we agree. Lol.

I agree that I wouldn't have thought about that, but my niece was 12 when I was still nursing my DS. She was very curious about it, what it felt like, did it hurt, how my DS knew where to latch without me guiding him, etc. I would have a talk with the girl, but there are pregnant girls in middle school so some may be curious about it. I wouldn't call CPS or assume she was doing it for a sexual or gross reason.

I wouldn't have called cps, that's just dramatic.

I would probably feel uncomfortable, but I wouldn't assume that the child was trying to do anything sexual or "unsavory" to my baby. Perhaps she just assumed that all breasts make milk and wanted to try it out, who knows. I'd have a talk with her, as well as her parent to be sure that boundary is never crossed again.
