Teething diaper rash?
posted 10th Feb
My son is 8 months old. His pedi said at 4 months he was teething he has yet to cut a tooth. Well today he has started being super fussy, runny frequent poops and he has a diaper rash. He has never gotten a diaper rash. It almost looks like razor burn like little pimples. Does this sound normal? I have been covering him in the a&d diaper rash cream and changing his diapers even more often than usual.

He already doesn't eat fruit, he hates it. If I am lucky I can get him to eat some banana. Lately he has just been having sweet potato, carrots and peas. He has been very picky lately.

Totally normal. When a baby is teething they swallow a ton of saliva which throws off the PH balance in their waste, which can give them a rash. Happened to my daughter all the time. But then again, she got a rash if the wind blew in the wrong direction, had to switch to cloth. He'll be fine. I found it helped to just wipe them with warm water instead of baby wipes so that the chemicals in the wipes dint further irritate the rash. You can also try letting his bottom air out a little bit if you aren't opposed to cleaning up an accident or two.

Awh. Teething can make me miserable. I've heard of some mama just cutting out solids all together during those rough few days of teething to avoid diarrhea.
