Help!! (A little long)

posted 10th Feb
I'm at my wits end.
My beautiful little, almost 8 month old, boy is constantly wanting to be held. I know they go through phases, but this is getting a little silly. I can't put him down on his playmats, as soon as I've got him halfway down to the floor he's already crying. I've tried playing with him, reading, stimulating him with 'new' toys.... Nothing works. If I let him cry for a few minutes (to go to the bathroom or try and get myself something to eat) he screams to the point of holding his breath or being sick. He is still able to see me but just wants to be held. Yesterday I held him literally all day, today looks like it's going to be the same.
He is very close to crawling but won't stay on the floor long enough to work on it. Any advice or help PLEASE tell me it's going to end very soon.

Sometimes it takes you getting down in the floor with him. I went through that with my son. That was the only way to get him to stop screaming.

My LO went through that every now and then. Her's started after stranger anxiety first hit her. It's a phase. While frustrating at times, try to comfort him as much as possible. He just needs extra snuggles right now.

Now I miss the snuggle... My LO is over a year and hardly wants to cuddle. Just running and playing non stop lol

My lil guy is 7.5 months and the same way. He's ridiculously attached to me. I actually think he started crawling out of desperation to come find me when I put him down to grab a bite to eat or go pee. It's pitiful but almost kinda funny, the desperation in his screams and then his frantic attempt to crawl and come find me. This too shall pass, mama, hang in there.

Thanks. I know I'm trying to cuddle him as much as possible as I know he won't always want them. I really do hope the neediness ends soon though. It breaks my heart hearing him scream he's lungs out but I need to eat

Yah he just started figuring out forward motion in the last week. I'll sit him down, turn around, and he's already on his knees. And then he tried to launch himself forward and he face-plants. Poor baby.

I know it is. Trust me. Honestly, putting him in sight of the bathroom may get him to crawl. He wants you bad enough, he will do anything to get to you.
