Custody question

I have an almost 15 yr old daughter that I have joint custody with her father. I just found out he is pulling her out of school for a week next month, so my question is should he have been the one to tell me they were going? I found out from my daughter, I am not especially happy with her being out of school for a week, and just finding out this late in the game. Its not something I would go to the lawyer about, but I would be emailing him and asking him why he didn't tell me.

Yes he should have told you. If she was just sick and missed school then no big deal, but to plan on missing a week of school is.

Well, I know how much of a douche he is, so I don't really put it past him to do this.
But is that something that's in your agreement, that he has to run things like that by you at all?

I'd be miffed, no doubt, since it's concerning her education. But when is he pulling her out? Remember that Easter is next month too.

He should have asked before he made plans like that.

Beginning of the month, and she is mine for Easter this year

Nothing is specified in the agreement about vacations, but he is to advise me on all things concerning her school, and her being pulled out of school, concerns her school.

I don't know if there's any legal obligation to tell you but if you all have joint custody that would be common courtesy to give you a head's up. Even if it's specified in your custody agreement, unless it's court ordered than that is just him being inconsiderate and I would be pretty pissed.
