i'm not a doctor, my only qualification is having gone through a twin pregnancy myself
that said, mine are identical, and my pregnancy was high risk, so i went to an ultrasound every other week the whole time. i'm also a statistician by education, so i researched all about the odds of twins.

based on everything i've seen, chances are overwhelming that they are fraternal
it's like this.
without seeing any ultrasound at all, fraternal twins are three times more common than identical ones, so i'd bet $100 on fraternal

IF they were identical, odds would be 75% of a shared chorion. you have a very thick, very apparent area between the two babies. this strongly suggests fraternal. only 25% of identical pregnancies are diamniotic (which MIGHT look like that. but i think your ultrasound is too thick EVEN for that).

basically, do i guarantee fraternal? no. would i place $1,000 on a bet that they're fraternal? absolutely.

MOST identical twins share a placenta, but there are also lots of cases where they are in separate placentas. It has to do with the timing of the egg dividing.
So there's no way to tell that early.

Oh geez! Well best wishes to you,think very hard on it...this is a miracle! And if you make the decision to terminate and it was the wrong decision..it could haunt you and mess with you mentally. I've been through it,I had one abortion and I regretted it,but nothing u can do once you make the decision.Have you ever thought about adoption? Thats another option   Keep an open mind.

no way. If they were identical, the black area around the babies would be one whole. There's two so that means 2 clear placentas. One per baby=fraternal

natural twins are so rare and precious. would be a real shame. you'd be missing out on so much

ugh I know..but I'm trying to save my marriage and ive got two kids already..I'd def have to upgrade my car and possibly house...I also work full time...

things might seem impossible now but they always end up working. Maybe not in the way we hoped or planned but it does. I hope you can figure this out with little heartache.

There's always adoption, whether that's an option for you or not its always something to look into.

As much flack as I am going to get for this, I can't help but say that this really breaks my heart. Abortion is such a lie and it breaks my heart that people think it fixes ANYTHING. I will be praying for you. I'm not meaning this rude, in any way. I am so sorry that you are feeling this way
