And do you realize babysitters, that you PAY can and DO do the same thing? This isn't unheard of. She's not leaving until what? March? That gives you AMPLE time to figure this out. It seems you'd rather sit around and whine about it.

It sucks, trust me I know it sucks when you need to rearrange your plans to accommodate other peoples schedules. But it's life, and it's something you have to deal with. If you've been living there for 8 months and she's been there consistently I think you should count your BLESSINGS, and let her go get a break from her life for TWO weeks.

Sounds like you have til the end of March to figure out what to do and save money for a sitter. Shouldn't be having kids if you can't even afford to pay somebody to babysit.

Tell that to all of the other mother out there that get pregnant on accident. Do I love my MIL? Yes. Is she always grateful for what we do? No, not all the time. Am I grateful for her help? Oh yes, and I love her for that.

Only if you guys knew how she can be, you would understand my point. Unfortunately, you all don't and think I am completely the bad person in this. I have already missed enough classes due to her having fibro. And I totally get that she is in pain a lot. She can never do anything with us as a family, and will never do anything with LO other than watch him for the few hours of the day she does. When we asked her to go to Florida this October, she said she can't because of her fibro, but all of a sudden she can go to Florida for 2 weeks to visit her "friend?"

Yea, we'll end up finding a way to make it all work, but I came on here to vent and say the things I can't say to anyone in my house. If you think I'm a brat or ungrateful, so be it. I don't care as you all do not know me outside of this post.

I don't think you are a bad person. I do think you sounded like a child having a tantrum but I'm sure this is all very stressful and upsetting.

Like I said, you can't dictate her life, in any way, shape or form. If she decided tomorrow she never wanted to watch your son again, you could bitch and moan about it all you want but it won't change a damn thing.

okay.   I do, as will always, continue to sacrifice all of my wants and needs for my child. Don't base the type of person I am off of one post.

I think you are getting way to work up, and may need to back away from this thread before you explode.

I can only imagine you angrily slamming on the keyboard typing.

May it sound childish, I think I'm allowed to be a little childish after the childish things she does to all of us in the house. I do love her with all my heart, but she's the type of woman if her hubby won't give her money for ,say, tanning, she asks us for the money, and if she can't get it she'll have a tantrum, go in her room and cry until she gets it.

That happens ALL THE TIME. That is why I am pretty upset over this whole situation. She always gets what she wants. ALWAYS. SO won't give me money for tanning, which I would never ask for in the first place, but he'll give it to her if she asks because in his words "she's crazy" and it's better to give her the money than to fight.

You all do not know my MIL. Yes, I am very grateful for what she has done, but she is not always grateful for what we do for her. We have saved them from claiming bankruptcy this past year and she continues to ask us for money for dumbass things her own husband won't buy.

go away already. I never ONCE said I have a problem with her for having fibro. I do as much as I can to help her with that. Trust me, I do. Those words NEVER came out of my mouth. I said I totally understand her being in pain all of time. You're just looking for more smurf to comment on in this thread.

This needs to end already lol LO is up from his nap so I'm out!   thanks for all the advice ladies, for or against what I posted about!

And how foolish does she look when she is throwing a fit over something? I'm assuming pretty damn foolish. And that is how you look.

I understand not wanting to deal with having to find a new sitter, deal with the drama this may cause in the house between your MIL and FIL, whatever. I understand, but you are the one who can control your reaction to the said situation. Either you can whine about it and be negative, or you can get your butt moving on covering as MANY DAYS AS POSSIBLE while she's gone.

haha oh yes. I guess I should have added in a little background info about her, but it's not my place to "smurf talk" about my mother in law. I wouldn't do that. I am just always fed up with her getting her way. Everyone says I am selfish, but you all don't know what I've sacrificed for LO while she gets everything she wants, and a lot of it is from OUR money because everyone is tried of hearing her whine if she doesn't get her way.

You think I am selfish and a brat, you have no idea.

And on that note, I'm out of this thread!

lol sorry bout that vile..it does make me very angry when I see stuff like this..just because someone may have offered to watch my lo doesn't mean it will happen all the time or when it's convenient for me it's when it's convenient for that person..her MIL doesn't have to be put in a position where she thinks it's her respnsibilty to watch op's lo..and it's even more selfish knowing that her MIL has fibro and she is still being a brat about the situation and complaining that her MIL wants to get away for 2 weeks ...and who gives a damn op if your MIL didn't want to go on trip with you.. I can see why she didn't want to go she probably didn't want to deal with you and feel like she had to watch your kid the entire time she was with you guys!
