If I have cereal I drain the milk... I use it to make it soggy but not a fan of eating it with my cereal... I think it's kind of yucky.. I will cook with it... as long as I don't have to taste it.

I have breastfeed in public and I personally cover up . I cover the top area around my breast with a very thin burp cloth. The babies head covers most of the rest of the breast and my arm anything left. I think you should be able to breastfeed in public but I have seen women who also just let their breast hang out even when the baby is done eating. With this next baby I will also breastfeed so I will have to deal with issue very soon again.

Why will you be pumping instead of nursing? Pumping is such a pain in the ass if you don't have to do it. You're not going to want to pump in public... it exposes much more than nursing. I nurse my baby whenever and wherever I need to, sometimes I cover, sometimes I don't, either way I try to be discreet, but I'm certainly not ashamed to feed my baby. Pumping is a whole different story, however.

As long as you keep it modest and wear appropriate nursing tops that don't reveal the whole breast, then do whatever.

I don't have a problem with anyone feeding their baby wherever they are comfortable doing it, covered or not. If you take a good look around, you see barely covered women's bodies everywhere...magazines, at the mall, tv, music videos, the beach, etc. I have a problem with people thinking THAT is acceptable but feeding a baby in public (anywhere) is somehow indecent. And as for me personally, if breast feeding works out for me this time, I don't plan on covering up. I don't eat under a blanket and neither should my child have to

Whatever, I mixed fed with my newb for 4 weeks, when we were out and about in public I wasn't taking a bottle of formula with me, so I whipped those bad boys out and fed her without a cover, even, gasp.

I never got looks, not that I knew about, anyways.   though, one day I needed a bit of help in the store and SO was at work, so I had my dad come in, baby got hungry so I fed her and as I was pushing the cart and feeding (boy was that hard) my dad got this nasty look on his face, and told me to cover myself lol.

I've pumped before, but not for long... this time I want to to do it every two hours..... instead of just when i'm full.... and apparently breastfeeding is looked down upon in his family.... well his mother.... I got in the debate with her today, and she said well if you plan on breastefeeding don't plan on doing it on my couch....

I must add it made me want to do it even more.... because by then that comment made me mad.... it's fine if they think babies should be fed in the bathroom (I disagree, but whatever) but then saying you can't do that in my house kind of hurt my feelings.

Do you live with them? Even if you do, smurf her (pardon my French). She has ZERO right to tell you how to feed your baby! There's no reason to make feeding your child harder on yourself. If YOU want to nurse, then nurse! YOU are the only opinion that matters! Ignorance like that just pisses me off!

My response would have been, without hesitation, "Well then don't plan on us coming to visit you."
So you're pumping because your family is ashamed of breastfeeding? They really should have no say on how you raise your child. Exclusively pumping is HARD, and has a pretty high fail rate. You also don't know how your breasts will respond to being pumped (even if they were fine with a previous child). You could produce plenty of milk, but be unable to pump. I hate to see someone have to stop breastfeeding because of their family
