Sex to bring about labor

posted 10th Feb
How often did you have sex to bring on labor? Here's my issue: I'm trying to VBAC. I'm not progressing at all. My doctor will not induce me with Pitocin, she will only break my water and hope that works. She also will not allow me to go over-due. If this baby doesn't come on her own, there is a pretty good chance I will have to have a RCS if breaking my water doesn't work. I really want to do it on my own. SO- how often should DH and I be having sex, you think? I have no sex drive, so it's really not that fun for me. Lol.

Idk. But if I don't have this baby before 38 weeks I have to have a c section. Hubby refuses to touch me till Thursday when I will be 37 weeks. Lol.

We did it maybe 2-3 times a day, but that was because we hadn't seen each other in 9 months... I went into labor at 38 weeks

I've been trying everyday for the past week. Just once a day and I get bad bh contractions after for about an hour or two. It's not working for me!! Lol it's exhausting so I think we r just going to let it be for a couple days

Have you tried epo? It's the proteins in the ejaculate that ripen the cervix, not the actual sex. Epo contains a protein that is similar to what is in ejaculate.

Is it in pill form or something?

Yes it's in gel caps, before you go to sleep you put it in your vagina as close to your cervix as possible. It's called evening primrose oil and you can get it at pretty much any drugstore or health food store

Ohhh okay, yeah I've thought about that. For some reason it scares me a little... like, if my water breaks unknowingly or something and I shove a pill up there and cause an infection! Ease my mind!!

EAT PAPAYA!!! just before it is ripened. i didn't believe that you couldn't eat unripened papaya while pregnant & i had a huge bowl of it around 20ish weeks. i don't like it fully ripened bc i like the texture to be kind of hard if that makes sense? anyway, i got contractions from it.

apparently unripened papaya is known to cause uterine contractions. so, there you go.

Most people know when their water has broken or they suspect a leak. Of course you don't want to put anything in your vagina if that happens but up until that point it's completely safe, no different than putting a penis or finger in there. LOL!

Girl you should have sex every day. It won't speed up labor, your baby won't come until your body is ready. However sex prepares your cervix for labor, it relaxes your body and it helps to liberate part of your hormones. You may find new ways to make things to increase your sex drive, you shoud wear some sexy outfits, so that you feel sexy and attractive, take a look a pregnant porn to see positions, you may find new places like the shower, the living room, etc.
