Is it realistic

posted 10th Feb
To skip a carry carseat and stroller and plan to just use a wrap to wear her when were out? I'm getting told that it isn't a realistic plan.

That's what I am doing. I am done with the darn carry carseat. Plus it is a pain with a stroller.

Don't listen to them.

My youngest hates strollers and will only tolerate it for a few mins. I babywear him though.

Seems like a reasonable plan for a while. When she gets bigger you might want a stroller, but maybe not.

wearing your kid out in public is a miracle. Especially if you have more then one kid.

I wear my baby the majority of the time. Sometimes I put her in the double stroller with my 2 year old, but usually she's in the ergo. We never got an infant seat for her

I had a moby with my son but after a scary mishap (he almost fell out because I dud it wrong ) I was too afraid to try again. The other day I was at my aunts house and she asked what I wanted for a baby gift and I mentioned bobas I've seen advertised on here and she grabbed her laptop and ordered it in the spot, I was like 0_0 lol so I really want to try again..

I think it's totally realistic, the only issue (for me) is when eating out and they are too young for high chairs, where do you put them?! In that instance, the carriers are convenient. We eat out often, but if you don't...then it's no concern!

As long as you have a car seat and maybe a stroller for back up I don't see why not. I have a carseat stroller combo and boy do I freaking hate that thing! But DS is so heavy that I only wear him when I'm going on the subway.

i don't see why it would be unrealistic. honestly, strollers are bulky and cumbersome.

i am in favor of babywearing, though i don't think i would be comfortable doing it. i'm a big girl and i feel like it would accentuate my rolls, plus i am so scared of dropping the baby somehow. so....

anyway, my answer is still no, it's not unrealistic.

I think it's important to have a carseat just in case because if you have a super fussy baby, where taking the baby out and wakng them up will result in them crying for the entire trip through the store, you will regret not having a seat you can carry in. That's how my first baby was. Had I not had a carseat I could carry out and keep him asleep in, id have never left the house.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Anybody know of a good carrier/wrap for a 32 pound baby?

Of course you can skip it. I really like the moby or ring wraps. Ive never tried them, but I've heard good things and I will be purchasing one whenever I have another baby!
