re: Is it realistic

Quoting .chele.:" I think it's totally realistic, the only issue (for me) is when eating out and they are too young for ... [snip!] ... do you put them?! In that instance, the carriers are convenient. We eat out often, but if you don't...then it's no concern!"

That too! On maternity leave, with so much free time, I went out to eat a lot. Being able to put them next to me in their carseat at a booth in a restaurant was perfect. They slept the whole meal. Haha. I don't think it's realistic to think you will wear your baby through dinner... I mean you could but I know id probably wake them up AND be dribbling food on their head. Lol. Strollers can be too big for many restaurants to seat comfortably without getting in the way of servers. LO was 6 mos old before he could sit up comfortably in the highchairs.

I use an infantino sync. Many ways to tie it. But no fear of it getting lose like a moby.

It's your child. What ever is comfortable for you and your LO. It gets to be a pain in the ass to lug a car seat around. My DH is 20 pounds and I wear her. It's much easier for us. She hates being left in her car seat.

I did this with DS once he hit 3 months because his carseat expired 2 months later and I just didn't feel comfortable using it.
I found wearing him to be SO much easier with having a 4 year old DD.

This is what I was planning on doing. My best friend's mom was the one buying the car seat for me, though, so she insisted that I just absolutely needed an infant carrier.
so we got the graco click connect 40. It's an infant carrier, but it will also fit your baby up until two years old. I'm actually really excited about it. and the stroller that's part of the set is pretty awesome, too.

but I'm thinking I'll be wearing her more than using the infant carrier. I only see it coming in handy if she's sleeping and I don't want to wake her up or am going to be at friend's/family's house and not want to be holding her for a long period of time.

That's what we are planning on doing. I am then getting a sit n stand for when the baby is older and DD still wants to ride.

I have a double stroller for disney and the nature trail we go to
I will need some option to put her elsewhere if I need to pee or eat, I remember trying to pee with the moby on and it was awkward and impossible lol and I pee a lot.
Lugging a pack n play around isn't too bulky, or is it?

Speaking of baby stuff, bumbo brand makes lots if new things! Even a portable toddler booster, I want one!

Me too, we eat out all the time. Literally every 2 days. I just keep him in his wrap. He sleeps or I nurse him. No problems and it is better than having a carrier in an unsafe sling or upside down high chair. They tip easy not only that but servers swing hot food over them. I have seen people drop things on the baby. Anyways keeps baby safe.

Our carrier always slid into the booth! There is no way I could sip a hot coffee or eat soup over my infants head! :/ I'm a neat eater...but accidents happen.

I figured you would say that. I only have coffee at home in the morning. I don't eat soup. So for me personally I don't have that issue.

I skipped it altogether with my daughter. Like, in entirety. I wore her from birth until she was two, and at that point she was fine just holding my hand and walking. She's been in a stroller about a dozen times total. I didn't plan it that way, I wasn't planning on baby wearing at all, I just ended up completely hating our stroller lol. I'm pregnant again and will probably end up doing the same again. It's not for everyone but it's definitely possible. Never had any issues with it.
